Shelbie Spear, MA, LLP
Approach to Treatment:
Shelbie believes that children and adolescents are shaped by the contexts they develop in, which is why she seeks to provide services that are responsive to individuals’ past and present environments and experiences. She brings an authentic, playful, and reflective approach to her work. Through this, she offers a safe and supportive space for children and adolescents to grow in their understanding of the relationships between environments, thoughts, feelings, and actions. Shelbie works collaboratively with parents and schools, as needed, to better support children and adolescents.

Shelbie utilizes evidence-based approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Parent Management Training (PMT), and psychoeducational testing
Age Range: 5-18 and parents
Experience and Training: Shelbie will be graduating with her doctorate in School Psychology from Michigan State University in August 2025. She earned her MA in School psychology in 2021.
More about Me: Shelbie enjoys Michigan summers outdoors hiking, running, or on a lake with her husband and dog, Eleanoir. She enjoys Michigan winters curled up with a good book. Being engaged with her community is important to Shelbie during all seasons, so she appreciates volunteering and connecting with others.
